Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.
No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. The listed phone number is (231) 947-9140. Walked the course watching my son play. Excellent condition. Fairways were like carpet. Greens were smooth and tough. Gotta be under the hole. A lot of undulations and a ton of tree lined fairways. Shot placement is critical. Play it and have fun. If I lived in the area I’d join this club.

Fantastic Memeber guest event! Staff is super friendly and welcoming. The food was was terrific. The course was in great condition despite all the rain we have had as of late.

The 1915 was amazing. The Million Dollar Mashed Potatoes were very good. Lauren, our server was attentive and professional.

Food has been improved a lot over the last year. Definitely a nice place to get dinner, especially in the summer when all the other restaurants in town are full of tourists. Service is usually pretty good! Have a fun schedule full of wine dinners and live music. When the weather is nice, the patio is lovely to sit out and enjoy a meal on with friends. Even when they are super busy/understaffed, the staff do their best to make it the best experience possible. Tennis courts area could stand to be upgraded. Definitely under invested in; the greenery is over growing the place and the gate into the forested area can’t be closed so you lose a lot of balls in that direction. The revamped gym is a great and is hardly busy. Parking has become the newest challenge however, especially with the ever increasing amount of golf tournaments happening. Can be hard to find a place to park.
